335 vs. e92 M3
Ok so i have been reading up on these fixed up 335s puttin down something about 380whp. My Q for you guys is....1) How much $ would it take to put a 335 in the 380whp range, and 2) What is the point of a 65k M3 if you can mod the 335 for lil cost and get it to burn an M? I konw I konw you say with some mods the M can be a beast, but its a N/A V8....there is much more room for improvement for the 335 in my eyes.
PLEASE LISTEN ALL YOU 335I GUYS THAT ARE COMPARING AN M3 TO A 335I. This comparison does not make any sense. An M will always be an M no matter how fast you make a 335. this is like comparing an E46 330 ci to a e46 M3. And also an E46 will kill a 335 on a track no question.
The M3 is a very nice and sporty car. However, no matter what you do with it it will never be a true all out performance car like my GT2. The M will do OK on the tracK, but there are about a thousand better options.
My view of the M3 was that it was always the perfect, albeit underpowered, dd.
However, I have recently become very interested in the extremely affordable performance potential of the 335i. I am probably going to pick up an 08 (after they sort out the overheating probs on the 07's) and chip it next summer when they start to show up on the pre-owned market. W/ the easily added power it will make an excellent dd.

will put down good numbers but i think its an ugly car
That's what I'm waiting for. The new M cars are too big, heavy and peaky in their power delivery - I want a small car with a light and nimble chassis and a big tourquey engine. From there, I can decide if I need to tweak the car to meet my handling needs as a DD. I just think it's easy and cheaper to tweak the handling of a lighter car...

Both cars are impressing the hell out of me for the money. It is so cheap to get good power out of that motor and I have an excellent BMW tuner in the neighborhood.
M3...a CSL rape a GT2...WOW...that has to be the most stupid statement I have heard in some time. Please put down whatever it is you are smoking....then again, give me some I need to escape reality.

I am considering that...I like the look of the 335i a bit more, though.

ok maybe it wont rape a gt2 but ive sat with an M driving school instructor in a CSL on the Nurb.ring and the GT2 was on his tail but coudnt pass. It fast though But the porches look like peanut hahaha jokess.
Ok, since you already have a GT2 then your all set for the track but there is no way in hell a moded 335i can out perform an E92 M3. Also to note a CSL will rape a GT2 on the Nurb. ring. It is quicker than a 360 stradale. Good choice on the 335i if you want an affordable car that will do good stuff in the straight line.Good luck with your 335
The 135i is a very ugly car in person. To boot it's all of about 70lbs lighter than the E92 335i IIRC. That weight savings is marginal at best...
i havnt seen one in person...i thought the 335i coupe was around 3600+ lbs and the 135 was supposed to be 3400+ i guess thats not right.
The 135 looks like a combat boot...
When Dr Jitsu is done, can you share some of that stuff with me?
Maybe we'll have a 6speed meet and hot-box a 335i.
