M3 Competition package
the wheels alone can be bought for 1600 and Pilot sports arent nearly as good as PS2's. either way they are still a cast wheel, not as strong as the forged oem 19s, even though lighter, and not nearly as strong as other stuff like the forged bbs wheels, or neez, fiske, etc. plus, the 225/255 set up on the m3 sucks. it understeers way too much, and with the softer suspension (which also sits higher) on the comp pack, you def need at least 245/275 if you arent going to get a wider front to run 265s up front and new suspension.
to me the comp pack is a gimmick that adds a few items to a car that are going to be changed in a modded car anyway. if you think its worth it, go for it...i personally dont and would much rather spend a little more money to get better aftermarket parts that suite my personal needs rather than a factory package that is compromised from the start because it has to appeal to a large audience.

Ha! You cannot buy real BBS CSL wheels for 1600 dollars.
And how is the suspension softer on the ZCP? Its the same shock/spring combo.
why then do some M3 seats don't have the adjustable side bolstering...I find this adjustment invaluable at the track when I drove my buddy's car...
It's an option. You could get: power seats, manual seats, heated power seats, non-heated power seats, manual heated seats, etc,.
Hmmm... Tischer BMW is selling ZCP wheels for $1600. The only diff between ZCP and CSL wheels is that the fronts are wider by 0.5" for CSL.
This thread on m3forum discusses the weights between 18", 19", and 19" ZCP.

On a used car, it might be worth it. But I wouldn't have paid $4K for it.
Steering - A little better
Brakes - A little better (IIRC, the calipers are the same, just bigger rotors). So buy some Axxis pads, the ZCP caliper bracket, and some new rotors and SS lines.
Wheels - $1600 brand new, and the opportunity to get 245/275 tires.
Interior trim - I like the brushed aluminum more, and the suede shows aging very quickly.
And with a non-ZCP, you get to keep CC and steering wheel buttons.
The track mode might be kind of cool, but only if you REALLY track...
Since all M3s are now used, I would just go with an 04. Best overall value IMO. (ZCP offered 05-06).

The ZCP suspension is the same as other non-ZCP 05-06 cars, but ALL 05-06 cars (ZCP and non-ZCP) are softer than 01-04 cars, IIRC.
*Keep in mind softer isn't a bad thing, nor does it directly mean poorer handling.

I'm almost 100% those are replicas. If not theyre a good deal or on sale.
the 05-06 are softer in the susp dept, and sit a little higher. from the one i drove, def softer and more body roll and understeer.
