The one with the lower redline is most likely the 3.0 liter twin turbo version while the higher redline is the 4.4 liter .

As the world's first Sports Activity Coupe, the BMW X6 xDrive50i comes with a Twin Turbo, direct injection 4.4 V8 engine with 400 hp and 450lb.-ft torque.
I don't believe there will be a 3.0TT version.

The lower RPM one is probably a diesel version.

i'd like to get an indepth view on the placement of the turbos, wondering how the reliability will pan out with that

Diesel/Gas for the different redlines.

I was reading an article in Edmunds stating the X6 will officially be released at the Detroit Auto Show. It did mention the 3.0 liter twin turbo known as the Xdrive35i.
Shouldn't the Xdrive50 be called the Xdrive4.4, and the 3.0 liter version the Xdrive3.0i?

Good eye Maciej. Don't know why that is. That V8 TT will be a great platform I feel. The car itself? I'm 50/50 on it. Still doesn't beat a G55 IMO which is the standard. Until a car comes out that beats that, that's the SUV to get.
