what is the best engine modifications for the m5/m6?

Prices for mod components for the M5/M6 are expensive starting w/ the headers but I guess being a V10 is part of the reason.
You said your budget was $30K, well you are within the dollar range to have a field day.
BTW the Schrick cams have not shown and valuable hp gain by dyno. That entails more invasive work and labor costs plus it's critical who does the work.
Dinan TB's also have not shown any dyno proven hp gain.
These two items are about $8K for product and labor. IMO they are not worth it.
I have another recommendation. If you have not spent any money yet on the mods then consider somebodies stroker motor. There is Dinan's or RDSport which will give you between 625 to 645 crank hp. Just a thought but you still need to get an exhaust. If I'd had the stroker available early on when I began to mod, I would have gone w/ the stroker. I still think it is too expensive plus you have to give them your motor and I do not like that concept.
Another route is TT system which is being designed by ASR Engineering in Miami, Florida. This is my plan. This is a great project being done by a very smart guy. He is a friend has really sorted out my M5.

For that price range, I would suggest trying to get a REPUTABLE tuner that you are comfortable with to build you a supercharger or turbo charger for your application. You will put down great power!! I would maybe suggest going with a supercharger to keep the linear power band. Good luck and keep us updated!

i havent bought the car yet, as i'm deciding which car, in the lamborghini section i started a thread regarding the new lp560-4. but we'll see what happens.
the problem is i'm located in kuwait, so things might get hard on where to get the parts plus shipping. it will get more expensive than it already is.

Hey c32amg what was your dyno pull when you were bone stock?
I know that M6's have shown greater hp numbers out of the box.
Those numbers for the mods stated are pretty tall but hey man congrats and post pics of your beast.

I didnt get a completely stock dyno but with charcoal filters removed and BMC filters I was at 429. I added the RPI scoops and went to 438, then AA exhaust and ecu put me at 451, then headers right at 480. Heres a few pics.
