Anyone in the NW with modded exhaust on M5 or M6?
Hey guys,
i'm considering putting a new exhaust on the M6, but would really like to hear some cars in person before pulling the trigger. Anyone in OR or WA will to take me for a ride? I'm thinking SuperSprint or Eisenmann from what i've seen on the net. Thanks

i have personally heard a eisenmann (on a E60, same noise) in real life and it sound wicked. very aggressive and loud but cabin noise is to a minimum. Not sure about SS. There products are good quality and sound good but eisenmann are louder and deep and is more $$$$. but deffinatly worth it

What level of exhaust note are you looking for? Mild to insane? This important in your decision process.
I initially put the SS system (X-pipe and mufflers) and it was too tame for me. Even after I got the headers it still was not enough. I got the Eisenmann exhaust (there are 2 types, the sport and the race; loud and louder).
The Eisenmann is prob. the most commonly used aftermarket exhaust by the M5/M6 owners.
The sound also has to do w/ what you do w/ the secondary cats or remove them. Then the resonator or use the X-pipe instead.
Section 1: secondary cats area or go w/ straight pipes here.
Section 2: resonator or use the x-pipe here
Section 3: Actual mufflers of the system you've bought.
In front of all this is the engine or aftermarket headers.
I removed the Eisenmann because it began to be too raspy for me.
I now have a custom designed full exhaust fabricated by ASR Engineering in Miami, Florida and LOVE it. When I can soon I'll send a video of the M5 doing a run.
Good luck w/ the choices,
GT3Ranger

GT3Ranger,
Thanks for the post, great info. I'm not looking for insane, i have nearly insane on my turbo which is great for weekends. My M6 is the daily driver and I still want to hear my stereo and phone when driving
I just want it to be more aggressive when i'm on the throttle, but tame when cruising. Sounds like Eisenmann sport? I've heard some amazing clips on youtube and some of those cars sound like F1. not sure i want that much for my dd.

The Eisenmann will give you a higher pitch (more f1) sound than the lower pitched Meisterschaft.
I used to have a B&B Triflow on my M5..., loved the way it sounded and the exhaust was relatively cheap from what I remember. I didn't recall any drone in the cabin, and it sounded narly (nascar) like on the outside. Goodluck.
