M3 open track suggestions?

So I've got SOME track experience: 2x Buttonwillow (rain and shine) in my old track prepped mustang; 1x Thunderhill in the mustang; 1x Thunderhill in 996 C4S; finally hoping to get my M3 out to a track. Thinking of streets of willow on Feb 8 with speedventures.

Any thoughts? Any recommendations for a first track day with an M car? Any tips for how the car performs at the limit, and how many laps I should hope to get out of the brakes? Any tips on how SMG performs in track environments? I'm assuming I need DSC off and SMG in S6 mode for optimal control, right?

Mind you: it's a convertible, so i know it'll be a little overweight, but i'm just out to have fun, not set any records.

Track pads.... OEM pads will fade. Might as well throw some brake fluid in there at the same time.

Otherwise, car should hold up fine.
