335 Brake Assist

I searched to see if anyone has posted this and I could not find anything so forgive me if this is repeated. If any of you with the 335ci's have noticed that there is some sort of "brake assist" function going on. When you are trying to pull into a parking spot or even off the line, you slightly lift off of the brake pedal to ease forward, the brakes stay clamped for a second or longer. This is some sort of stupid feature that does not let the car roll back or something. This has really bothered me for a long time. I took it into the dealer and they said that BMW has had quite a few complaints about that feature so they now allow it to be removed through the software. They also said that they were getting premature pad wear. Interesting...I had them remove it and it drives like a different car. All of a sudden the brakes feel like you are in control of them and not the car.

wow I didn't know you can take that crap off! whats it called? I think your referring to the downhill feature the car has that allows you to let go of the break and use your left foot to engage into gear if you are going up hill.

ie. your on an uphill slant in neutral holding the break... you let go of the break to engage first, the car holds its place for about a second allowing you time to do so... its never happened to me at a launch though

hope this helps

Hmmm, very interesting, I'm going to investigate this further...

Out of curiosity, can it be put back in after the fact? If a buyer wants it kind-of-thing.
