Not a concours example, but a very nice driver. Original paint and 132k miles.

It is going to be a couple of months. I don't have much of a use for it until Spring.

Originally, the plan was to import only 500. The precise number remains somewhat elusive, but generally the official sources are in the 1220-1250 range for US models.

BTW, there was a lawsuit against BMW for false advertising, as the ads mentioned there would only be 500 imported. M5 buyers got a certificate from BMW for a discount on a future BMW. I don't know the precise amount, but I think it was $5-10k.

E28 M5 update:

The seller and I agreed on a price today. All that remains is for the car to be inspected, which is going to be delayed a week or two.

I doubt the inspection will turn up any new issues, since I had the car inspected a little over a year ago. It has been stored since then and only driven a couple of times for a few miles.

I should have it in early April.

Absolutely stunning. I can only hope I'll have the means to fully restore a classic sometime soon
