Need some advice....

Hey guys, I'm a porsche guy but I might have a opportunity to pick up a 2002 M3 (SMG) for a really good price. I was wondering if there is anything special I should look for as far as options are concerned. I don't know that much about bimmers, so a little help please.....

Make sure rod bearing recall performed. Affects all e46 m3s <= 2003.5. Some say since this required actual engine work at a dealership not the best idea in any case. Although debatable i think the SMG is less durable than the manual.

So does it effect 2003.5+ or 2003.5 and below?

I've had an 01 and an 02. No problems, just spent a lot of $ on rear tires.
