yeah, as stated above, i would be very careful with a $22k '01 M5. all of the "nice" '01 M5s i've seen are north of $25k and usually around the $30k mark.

the M5 is significantly more expensive to maintain and repair, but it offers a lot more in return. honestly, i really like the E46 330i and i was considering it and the E39 530i but i went with the M5.

whatever you get, make sure you have it checked out by someone who knows what they are looking at before you put down your cash.

 

m5 is a better car but at $5 gallon gas i'd pick the 330. You'll average 22-25MPG if you drive normally in a 330. An M5 will be in the low-mid teens. Why not consider an M3 they can be had in the low 20s and get low 20MPH as well, plus better handling and more fun than an m5. Same interior room as a 3 series sedan despite only having 2 doors.

 

yea a low 20s M3 is going to be a POS. why are some of you guys so ignorant?

to pick a 330 over an m5 over gas economy is ridiculous. both cars suck at it.
