oh..my..god..The BMW GINA
are you guys serious - thinking this is cool? This is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen, the idea of a gorgeous car is completely gone - the most idiotic thing ever done by BMW, besides hiring that hack bangle
again... the implications of such a radical design breaking down the "normal" thinking and opening a new way of thinking is huge. if you think it's dumb then thats your opinion but you can't deny it is progression. it's about being "flexible" in thought and that to me is amazing.

I agree that this could be a huge breakthrough. How much money has been spent on carbon fiber hoods, etc. to save weight? If that fabric is stretched over a skeleton or frame that provides the support, I don't see any reason why it can't work.
As far as getting vandalized, I bet that skin in much cheaper than body panels, and might be as easy as 'changing the sheets' to make repairs.
Either way, I am glad they are pushing the envelope. Even if this doesn't make it, I am sure the research will help with breakthroughs in other areas.

So says the prancer who drives the Toyota Prius Hybrid.

I think its brilliant.
Yeah, that's a big step backwards because it's currently impossible to cause thousands of dollars in damage to a car with a knife.
