You guys don't even know...when the guy was getting his tools out of the back of the explorer, i tried to take them but the cop told me I had no right to take them. That sucked. He didn't even say "sorry", just a "no habla..." . I don't care he doesn't speak english but an idiot from any where in the whole world should know how to say "sorry". Just proves he had no remorse and knew the only thing he was going to lose was the piece of crap explorer. I asked what about a ticket for no license and insurance and the cop just says the guy is illegal and won't show up to court anyway. He has a point... i guess.

Do you have uninsured motorist coverage? I know it sucks big time right now but just let you insurance company do the investigation. What are you going to do with the car?

Not sure why this thread has to turn into political discussion. Not all illegals are like that guy, a lot of them are hard-working people who pay taxes and do eventually become legal. Plenty of US citizens drive without insurance or license, not just the illegals. A few years ago, I was hit by a 90-some year old who shouldn't have been driving since the 70's, and you don't see me going around saying "I hate old people"...

 

Cop did not do his job. He could of arrested him and taken him to jail. Looked to me like battery with a motor vehicle. Lazy *** cop.

 

In some places in this country this topic is political, especially in L.A. I just hope it doesn't turn racial because that was not my intention. I also agree as a whole, illegals come here to work (hard) and make a contribution to our society. And yes, I'm sure there are many legal citizens who drive without insurance and licenses as well. F those people too.

I don't hate old people, but I do have a problem with old people driving.

 

Your insurance will probably go after the guy/cops even if you don't directly.

 

i cant believe there is nothing a cop can do, not even an overnight in the city jail. this really sucks a$$. i hope you have coverage for uninsured motorists, there are so many uninsured drivers put there.

by the way, off topic, do your insurance go up when you file a claim against uninsured motorist?
