I put H&R springs and Dinan rear bar and FRC on my e60 and it helped a little, but not a dramatic improvement. Then again, the M5 is very impressive from the factory.
what do you plan to do with it? make it a track weapon? for low budget mods, you can get a pair of stock rear wheels and put it in the front (need at least 3mm spacer) to dial out some understeer. then figure out a way to drop 500lbs while keeping 50/50 weight distribution.

Having owned and traded in my M3, I can tell you that I miss it and am now on my second car that "should" be as good, and isn't. (see sig) I have to force myself to stay away from ebaymotors, every time I'm on it, I feel like I'm chasing the dragon. Get the M3, trade the M5 for a 545 if you want warranty/reliability, otherwise keep the M5.

Wow you weren't kidding you are "all over the place"

You are taking hits on depreciation worse than the anyone right now with all this buying/selling so a few bucks on mods is nothing.

Keep the e39 m5 and SAVE the REST ~ Probably the only guy going to tell you this because the one's saying buy buy buy is NOT their money....haha

Too bad you sold your e60 m5 or I would say just keep that and call it a day. As much as I love manual cars, an m5 sized car should be an SMG/Auto.

I'm tryin to rid my e46 m3 to get into a used e60 m5 with the crazy prices nowadays.

gluck whatever you decide
