I think perhaps one of the main reasons is the cars are twice the cost of cars here in the states...
and the roads are even worse

what did you do to your from plate? did you cut them off to fit that place? If so, have you had any cops giving you crap about that?
ps. i'm from taipei also. do you go to the meet on thurs/friday night in nei hu? the one where everyone meets at the gas station? i'll be in tw next week, maybe u can show me this beautiful machine in person.

I cut the front plate at the top and bottom portion so that it looks cleaner. So far no problems with cops but I havent got pulled over yet so we'll see...should be ok though since Im not covering up the numbers to avoid speed camera's. I dont go to meets at all... send me pm and maybe we can meet up.
