I drove one and it seemed very sporty and fun to drive but I could not get over the low visibility out of the small back window -- but this was just a short test drive over about 10 miles so perhaps it was a momentary dislike.

I drove it for one full day tot test drive it, I liked it a lot, but four seats didn't work for me, so I ended buying a 2009 GTS...Said that, a friend of mine got the X6 and I had the chance to drive it several times again, and besides the lack of one seat; I am sure I did the right choice.

I think its a very nice looking car on the road, especially in black. Really minor mods like wheels/drop can really set the car off... but to each their own

I agree 100% with your comment aut0sh0cker

Everyone has different likes and dislikes as well as different priorities. So, if you like it; go for it and disregard all the negative comments. I guess you will end up buying what YOU want and like, not what a bunch of opinionated people think. It's very common now days that people who disagree with your opinion end up being nasty "without reason" about it.

But you know, the best way to deal with that kind of people is just ignore them...AND do well in life. That's the best revenge in the world.

IMO:

Polarizing looks.
I like it in black, but not other colors.
Horrible rear visibility (as mentioned above)
'Bucket' seats in back is a mistake.
Initial turbo lag is unacceptable, but once you get it moving the 4.4 is fairly quick.
Not worth $85K.

For $5k more, you can buy an ML63 and not wonder if people are thinking 'Aztec' when you drive by.

Anyone know if they are going to use this engine in the X5 though? Can't seem to find anything on it. Saw another black X6 on the road today, like someone else said everyone has their own opinion, car still looks like some handicapped hunchback to me. X5 is so much more sharper looking, I'd love to see that engine in the X5.

Edit - more: http://www.motorauthority.com/spy-sh...xdrive50i.html

My salesperson told me that at their most recent sales meeting, there was talk about an 'M' X5 - likely using the 4.4TT engine.

FWIW

ps.. I agree w/ you re the X5 vs the X6 looks - no comparison.

If they do a M version with that engine and a manual trans, I'll be all over it. Cayenne GTS is great but needs more power and torque as their such porkers. Jeep SRT-8 is blast to drive, just wish it had a manual trans. Screw people wanting smooth and soft shifts, stick a tremec 6 speed in there and I'll be happy

edit- oh wow, looks like it will be out sometime next year as 2010 model. Awesome.

Im sorry but I have to say it that the ML63 doesn't touch the the X6TT. I've driven both cars and the X6 makes the ML feel like a boat in water. I have to check the power numbers but I think the X6 has it there too, atleast in torque anyway.

and not to mention factory 21" wheels and there is already more tuning options for the X6tt than the ml63.

I didn't care for the look at first, but the more I see it in person, the more it grows on me.
