I don't know about great mod potential - you can remove the first cat, put on a smaller pulley, add intake scoops & BMC air filters, and tune the car. About 50 hp gain for about 6500 bucks. Otherwise, you can do a stroker motor for about 40K and get 140 hp over stock. All the FI options are big money for now, unless ESS finally releases their SC for around 20K as promised about 6 months ago. Forgot to also include Nitrous - 150 hp gain for about 8K installed, but it's on/off obviously.

I left mine stock - it's a fast luxury car. But even stock, you are still at the top of the food chain on the highway.

I saw on a tv auto show program that on the M6 you have to go into the settings to allow for the additional HP. Is this true

Don't need to go into settings - can press M-button on steering wheel which gives you a pre-loaded configuration that you can customize in settings - with DSC and suspesion settings as well as power. Otherwise, there are 3 buttons next to the gear lever that control all of these things as well.

any idea on WHY ???
If I am driving and I need the power etc, I dont want to think about having to start pushing buttons. Is this an issue for any of you M owners ???

Seems odd to me, anyone else

It is a little silly, but it's not a big deal. I generally drive in gay mode until the car is warm - then hit the M-button. Some people just hit the M-button after startup.
