smart phone adapter

Is anyone using one of the Smart Phone adaptors for the new iDrive system? According to BMW's web site, the only feature it adds above a regular iPhone connection is that it boosts the signal through the cars built in cellular antenna. Any other info/feedback would be appreciated.

biglare is infamous around these parts
Well I can control my iPhone's iPod functions through the iDrive now! It also boosts the signal through the car's built in antenna. Does that help?

With the regular iPod adapter, you can also control the iPod features on the iPhone. I was curious if it did any better integration of the smart phone features -- such as txt, email, contacts -- anything else.

Do you actually notice an improvement in the signal?
