It uses a 5 axis machine to get the curves. There's a nice vid on youtube showing the shapes a 5 axis CNC machine can do. It's pretty amazing.

Thanks guys. I really like all the ones you posted. Anyone rocking Forgelines? I am trying to stay around 20lbs or less, because I want to justify the price of wheels with noticeable lower weights to increase performance. I like BBS LM but the weights posted on tirerack seem a bit closer to stock than I was looking for.

Not many wheels out there at 19-20 lbs in 19" size. The RAC's are right there.
There's the VOLK TE37-SL, which are maybe a little lighter.
The HRE's are heavier. CCW maybe close and not too expensive.
Never seen Forgelines on an M3.

What about SSR or Advan? They make racing applications for the street, strong forged wheels that are light and high quality at a decent price!

Never seen an SSR either, but the Advan's are popular, but the cast wheels usually. I haven't seen the forged wheels yet. The cast Advan's run around $2,500 and are very well made, as you know.

You can get CCW's in 18's for as low as $2,500 if you can convince them to give you a discount. The VOLK TE37-SL in 18" can be had for around $2,900, which I think is a GREAT price, since they will clear 380mm Brembo's, as will the CCW's.
