Something New
Just replaced the '07 M6 Convertible with a brand new M6 Coupe.
Not sure if there is an actual difference between the Convertible and the Coupe and/or an actual difference between the '07 with 30k miles and a brand new one.
But the 1200 mile service was done yesterday and now that the full power has been enabled, the new one feels incredibly tighter, quicker, beastier.
Has anyone else noticed this?

You do realize that your M5 and the M6 motors were electronically de-tuned from the factory, right?
The motor oil and differential oil that is shipped in the car as it leaves the factory are of a difference viscosity, to enable a lighter wear-in period.
Once you hit 1200 miles and take it in, they change the fluids and, through an electronic download, enable the motor's full power.
It's not just because it "seems" different. It really is different and it is significant.
I would imagine there are few people out there who are not good listeners and/or have never read their owners manual who never took their car in for the 1200 mile service. They may not know that they still have not yet had all their M motor's power turned on.
