its gorgeous. Really an updated (albeit larger) design of the E39.

Word is 562HP is HIGHLY underrated.
with the exception of that horrible tranny in the
original v-10, I have always loved these cars. Plus
with all the aftermarket stuff available, they are
infinitely customizable.

I agree and the use of turbos will create a whole new line of aftermarket goodies and high HP cars!

I am sold on the potential alone. The pics of the Saloon version floating around the net is stunnig. Something about an 800hp sedan is appealing to say the least! There is a video on you tube that clears shows that they will offer a 6 speed!

Its always nice to see a new M model. I know it has more horses, but does it feel and sound like an M5?

I lot of people got a shock when they saw an E60 M5 just because the looks where away different from an E39. BUT SIRs, when you press on the gas in an e60 m5, you know every time you are in business. Its the sensation in driving an e60, the roar of a v10, that makes this model one of the best M's BMW has made.

The reason they went to a twin turbo is because its cheaper to make, not because its better.

Sorry guys, but the people in the M department became economist first than BMW enthusiast.

They really had no choice but to go with forced induction in order to get the power level they needed...it's not that it's cheaper, it's that it produces more power and MUCH more torque while being more efficient that the alternative, which would have been to go to a larger displacement engine. There's no question the new M5 will be much faster than the outgoing model...I have an X5M and the engine is awesome. Trust me...get on the gas in a new M5 and you'll know you're in business, too...as you pull away from that e60. Plus the new M5 is a lot better looking than the e60, too. Sounds like a winner!

Kind of looks like a very overgrown 1M.

I'm sure it'll be very fast in a straight line, but too big and heavy for any track work.
