BMW 5er Fest at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

As part of its 2011 gathering, the Allegheny Chapter is pleased to host the 10th Anniversary of 5er Fest at the 2011 PVGP. For those not familiar with the event, 5er Fest is the creation of a an interest based group of vintage 5 Series BMW enthusiasts who discuss their cars, techincal issues and generally socialize on the web at http://www.mye28.com/. The e28 in the title refers to BMW's internal chassis numbering system which identifies BMW's 5 Series automobiles produced in the 1980's. Since the members of this forum are located all over the United States, Canada as well as other countries, it is difficult to have face to face interaction at regular meetings. In 2002, the members of the forum picked Dallas, TX as a destination where the members could come to meet face to face. A 5er Fest gathering has been held annually since that first year with diverse destinations such as the BMW manufacturing facility in Greer, SC, TireRack's headquarters in South Bend, IN, and most recently, as part of the BMW CCA's O'fest in Elkhart Lake, WS. Members of this group own many unique 5 Series cars that are rarely seen in the US. In addition to participation in all of the Allegheny Chapter activities for this year's PVGP, we have scheduled special events for 5er Fest. We extend a special welcome to the members of this group! If you do not have an e12, e28 or e34 Remember, the Allegheny Chapter welcomes all years and models of BMWs!

The BMW Club plans to keep many of the successful events of recent race weeks while added and tweaking others to keep the schedule fresh. Here is the tentative list of events planned for July 2011:
