E46 M3 wan't Oppinions...
Hello all. Been a long time lurker so thought I'd finally say something
Im doing some research on E46 M3's because I need a new daily but trying not to break the bank want to pretty much pay off what I decide to get. And the E46 M appearance wise has been a personal favorite but I have yet to own one. While I have read about the potential high cost problems im really only interested in the Smg II models because im tired of driving a stick shift car as a daily and these trans seem to be the best of both worlds. So im just looking for first hand info on these cars good or bad Thanks.

I loved my 2003 M3 with SMG II. The power/speed is not overwhelming, but the explosive delivery and engine sound makes it a thrill! The transmission can be too harsh/jerky for some old farts, but once you get to know it, it can be driven pretty smoothly. Great car!
I own a 2002 M3 w/SMG and it's an absolute blast to drive. As with any car you get a PPI is imperative and do a good bit of research regarding the Vanos issues, sub-frame re-enforcement, RTAB's, etc.. There is a wealth of info out there to help you make the right decision.
