just finished a 2400 mile roadtrip w/M5

Houston to Durango, Co to Amarillo (thru Alamosa, Co), Tx to Houston - '08 M5 w/42000-44000 miles - car ran perfectly - burned no oil and averaged 19.2 mpg. Rode the Durango/Silverton narrow gage RR and attended the outdoors play "Texas" in Palo Duro Canyon (outside Amarillo). a very nice trip..

train station in Durango

along the Animas River from Durango to Silverton

My M5 alongside a '90s Ferrari 355 in the parking lot of our hotel - The General Palmer Hotel - backs to the RR Tracks and 1/2 block to the Station

our train (1 of 3 daily) after arrival in Silverton (a very "junk" town ! but the train ride was nice)

lunch at "Grumpy's" in Silverton - a Piano Player, not a Player Piano (she was good - cute too)

Palo Duro Canyon - outside Amarillo/Canyon, Tx - pic taking of the Play was prohibited

I'm seeing there's more and more obnoxious drivers on the roads these days - city and highway.
Another road trip coming up in Sep/Oct - probably 4000-5000 miles to the West Coast and back

.
last year a 6000+ mile trip - houston, durango, silverton, ouray, grand junction, reno, eureka (ca), down the beautiful california coast on Hwys 1 & 101 to the santa barbara area, newport/balboa then back home..

2 years ago from scottsdale (az), where I bought the car to houston (never again buying a car in az - taxes too high !).. then another trip from houston to santa barbara and back - almost 3000 miles

not bad for a "weekend" car
