M5 in snow
M5 in snow
Hello guys,
I am interested in an M5 but I live in Chicago and would probably get sow tires in the winter months. Any insight on how this car does in the snow with winter tires and experiences to share? Also any recommendations on correct winter tire sizes?
thanks.

I have a 2013 that I bought a set of the OEM 19" wheels and then had Sottozero IIs in the OEM sizing placed on them for the winter. It did great last winter in up to 4-6 inches of snow and is doing fine this winter although I probably should replace the rears as I wore them down too much last spring from leaving them on the car too long.

255x45x18 all around would be the size if your looking for best traction and pothole protection. Chicago has a few potholes, Right? Dedicated winter tire Blizak. All season Nokian WRG3 or Continental Contact Extreme. The Nokian's are awsome and you will get a lot of miles out of them and still have decent performance. Then switch back in the summer.
