this is goign to be exciting car IMHO
especailly when the torque is available at 1500Rpm

lilraja,

it should be pretty crazy from what I hear some of the euro guys are already in the process of getting the maping for the ecu...this should be good for at least 30-50hp at the crank, this could be what will replace what the B5 Audi S4 was a few years back....

Yeah so chip, co's, 19's, exhaust, short shift kit, ipod, etc...and 45k pretty much loaded is great!

Fellas, take a look at this photoshop done by a memer at M3forum. 335i dropped with Iforged Essens. I think this car has a lot of potential.

Exactly. You'll probably see the E93 (convertible) sometime in the spring.

I only wanted the Sport Package. Don't need the steering or Steptronic. So my price was only $44K I think.
BMW's site is already saying theyll lease for $3500 due at signing and $530/month for 36m. With those numbers, I think I'll be ordering this Spring to replace the FX!!!!!

Too bad it lacks an LSD. In all roadtest videos you can see the internal wheel spinning endlessly. Turbo torque and LSD go together but apparently BMW doesn't want to make it as fast as the E46 M3 people paid 60k for...

And it's not like the boxster or Cayman and 911 that lack an LSD because in the p-cars the engine is either over or in front of the rear wheels applying more vertical force and increasing the grip...

It follows their pattern of making the 330ci/328ci just a tad slower than the E36 M3. Oh well. I'd rather have an E46 M, but the 335ci is making more sense. Shame on the lack of an LSD, especially with the power potential it'll have 1 year after hitting the streets.
I'm going to check them out ASAP in person. It's either that or the next generation 2008 G35 coupe (due at dealers this summer).

New M3 looks like sh*t, so that doesn't say much. 335ci isn't so hot either. But good price, good performance, good technology, decent interior, etc. make it a contender. G35c is beautiful in and out, proven nice technology (I have a new FX and it's got amazing features - just like the new BMW - active cruise control, smart key, lane departure warning, etc -) but Im not sure on it's arrival or final #s. I think for me it's down to these 2 cars. Sad, I can't afford the Cayman S haha! The coming S3 isn't bad, but not for me.

no kidding...almost tempting away from an 05 m3 which i can pull a substantially lower payment <400...although I could just keep my cash for investments and whatnot...this still isnt an M and i'm kinda bored with a turbo car coming from the STi...what do u guys think?

Id take an E46 M3 over the 335ci, no doubt. I dont care if an ECU will make the 335ci faster.
How are you getting payments on M3 down to $400? Can you even lease a used one? Or is that a purchase price with 60 months? Just wondering.

Is it just me, or is there no NAVI option on the 335ci!??!?! Not on the building site... Yikes.

And a mediocre difference, is the gas mpg.
335ci: 20-28
G35c: Likely 18-24 (old model)
E46M: I think 16-20

Here's a photoshop to help explain. I am horrible, but it gets my point across. I REALLY wish BMW had the headlights point DOWN on the inside lower corner rather than come up. Point vs round would have made a world of difference. This is HOT while the real ones are NOT!

I hear ya man. not very good looking. looks fat in the back. i think the G35 coupe is really what you said, good on all counts. the power needs to go up into the 315-320 range. the new g35 sedan just ran a 13.9@103 with 306 hp. BUT, the article said with new SAE hp rules, the hp is much more than the OLD 298. i dont know what changed but it def is true bc the old g35 sedan only ran mid tohigh 14's and now it runs a 13.9, that pretty damn impressive. g35 with 298 hp i had seen some in the mid 13s. new one should be low 13s.
