Your car looks fantastic. I know this is an '06 post, but is your car a model year '06 or '07? The areokit is very subtle, I had to really study it to see it but its there.

Not sure why the aero side skirts are an option? Its not aggressive enough to turn even the most "clean look" loving enthusiasts (myself) off. It clearly should just be part of the design...

Clearly the wheels make the major difference, but the side skirts add just enough of an affect to make a difference. They broaden out the car nicely...

I'm thinking of getting this set up in Black...

I don't really like the way BMW is taking their looks. The M coupes are the only new models I really have an eye for.. very nice

Of the newer Bangle designs, this is the only one that I like. Looks great with those wheels!

this one looks great on CSL's...wheels are a must on the new M Coupe since the stockers are so god awful.

I've got one... it is a surprisingly fun car... handling isn't textbook like, say, the Cayman S... but, then, that was the allure of the 911. Takes more time to gain the confidence of what the car is going to do at the limits, but it is a fun ride... think I'll actually be keeping it for a while.

Stephen, I'm very seriously considering this car. Can you compare it to anything else you've driven/owned? You mentioned the handling but how's acceleration? Braking? etc...

Thanks.

It's a pretty balanced car in terms of handling vs power vs torque. Acceleration is adequate... traps 104~105, similar to an NSX or Boxster S. Midrange torque is pretty linear, and it still pulls to redline. Braking is very good.

It's hard to put my finger on it, but this car has got personality. You have to spend time to get to know it. I'm going on my first serious canyon carving session this Sunday, so we'll see how well I can catch and maintain drift angles.

Traction isn't as strong as I'd like.. not sure if it's the cheap continentals or something else... will go to Pilot Sports to see what dif it makes. Also, I think the dampers could use more rebound to help it settle quicker in transitions. It doesn't feel as planted as the Boxster, but again, it could be the inferior tires that I experienced.

Overall though, it's a really fun car. Kind of like a more powerful and luxurious coupe version of the s2000. I've got the Interlagos w/ the carbon leather, sirus, nav, heated seats, and premium. And I like the fact that I've only seen a couple other M Coupes. I've probably seen a few hundred Caymans already. The car seems to yield pretty polarizing opinions on forums, but I really like the way it looks.

And let's not forgot the girthiest steering wheel of all land... feels great sawing that steering wheel back and forth. It may not be the overall statistic leader or king of any one thing, but as an overall package, it is a very fun driver.
