One of the nicest looking BMWs ever.

Z0RR0 12-24-2006 01:39 PM

Many hate it, but I really love love love this car!

20C4S 12-24-2006 02:50 PM

love it. it drives nice too. pure driving experience.

Mike S 12-24-2006 04:00 PM

CSL wheels on that car look good

Brian Haske 12-24-2006 04:21 PM

Finally lost the Honda Civic look.....

I like it;)

Benjamin Choi 12-24-2006 10:46 PM

this is one of the bmws i really want to learn to love, but i just can't

it does look a lot better with the wider 19s, but all cars look better with upsized wheels and a lowering job

sna911 12-24-2006 11:51 PM

Car looks great. I owned a 2000 Z3 M Coupe..........probably the one the exciting car to drive in highway traffic. Would love to own a Z4 coupe for everyday driving.

XX911XX 12-25-2006 02:54 AM

My wife tells me that this car looks nicer than the 911.

Now way in hell!!!!!

TUUNER 12-25-2006 10:16 AM

I've never been a fan of this model but I must say that it looks fairly nice...will probably grow on me more...Arling, can you give us your impressions of it since you seem to have driven one???

Bimmeristic 12-25-2006 11:13 AM

That is sure some nice looking eye candy!!!!

ColinB 12-25-2006 01:17 PM

Sweet car, I love the color. As always great pictures...

MeanMachine 12-25-2006 01:56 PM

My cousin has a Silver MZ4 roadster, Its a sweet machine and Its fun to drive, However after looking at this pic the stock wheels look boring compared to the CSL wheels

eshaun 12-25-2006 06:21 PM

Although I have to admit I do like the styling of the new one, I was sitting in a buddies a while back and the hatch space must be half the size of the prev coupe...try fitting 4 track wheels in there + gear :)

csl wheels are perfect match tho

D-VO 12-25-2006 07:31 PM

I love the sides and the CSL's, the car looks ready to pounce on anything

MattM 12-26-2006 05:02 PM

wow those CSL wheels look beautiful on there !

911m3s2k 05-02-2007 01:56 PM

Your car looks fantastic. I know this is an '06 post, but is your car a model year '06 or '07? The areokit is very subtle, I had to really study it to see it but its there.

Not sure why the aero side skirts are an option? Its not aggressive enough to turn even the most "clean look" loving enthusiasts (myself) off. It clearly should just be part of the design...

DrivenAgain 05-02-2007 03:37 PM

U know what...this is one cool car.

Bronto 05-02-2007 03:41 PM

the new m coupe is so nice! looks really beefy in these pics too, great find

Clearly the wheels make the major difference, but the side skirts add just enough of an affect to make a difference. They broaden out the car nicely...

I'm thinking of getting this set up in Black...

pilone 05-03-2007 05:38 AM

Incredibly good looking...so now it has both brakes and wheels from the CSL! WOW!

Big E Smallz 05-03-2007 01:04 PM

I don't really like the way BMW is taking their looks. The M coupes are the only new models I really have an eye for.. very nice

Benjamin Choi 05-03-2007 02:16 PM

not feeling it - much better than stock though

lateapex 05-03-2007 07:09 PM

Of the newer Bangle designs, this is the only one that I like. Looks great with those wheels!

MrBlonde 05-04-2007 12:54 AM

Needs lowering.

3TARD 05-04-2007 11:10 AM

in your opinion i suppose. IMO the previous M Coupe was far more outrageous and beautiful. not that i dislike the Z4M Coupe - in fact i love it...i just prefer the styling of the Z3M Coupe.

this one looks great on CSL's...wheels are a must on the new M Coupe since the stockers are so god awful.

StephenTi 05-05-2007 09:33 AM

I've got one... it is a surprisingly fun car... handling isn't textbook like, say, the Cayman S... but, then, that was the allure of the 911. Takes more time to gain the confidence of what the car is going to do at the limits, but it is a fun ride... think I'll actually be keeping it for a while.

911m3s2k 05-05-2007 11:32 AM

Stephen, I'm very seriously considering this car. Can you compare it to anything else you've driven/owned? You mentioned the handling but how's acceleration? Braking? etc...

Thanks.

StephenTi 05-05-2007 04:42 PM

It's a pretty balanced car in terms of handling vs power vs torque. Acceleration is adequate... traps 104~105, similar to an NSX or Boxster S. Midrange torque is pretty linear, and it still pulls to redline. Braking is very good.

It's hard to put my finger on it, but this car has got personality. You have to spend time to get to know it. I'm going on my first serious canyon carving session this Sunday, so we'll see how well I can catch and maintain drift angles.

Traction isn't as strong as I'd like.. not sure if it's the cheap continentals or something else... will go to Pilot Sports to see what dif it makes. Also, I think the dampers could use more rebound to help it settle quicker in transitions. It doesn't feel as planted as the Boxster, but again, it could be the inferior tires that I experienced.

Overall though, it's a really fun car. Kind of like a more powerful and luxurious coupe version of the s2000. I've got the Interlagos w/ the carbon leather, sirus, nav, heated seats, and premium. And I like the fact that I've only seen a couple other M Coupes. I've probably seen a few hundred Caymans already. The car seems to yield pretty polarizing opinions on forums, but I really like the way it looks.

And let's not forgot the girthiest steering wheel of all land... feels great sawing that steering wheel back and forth. It may not be the overall statistic leader or king of any one thing, but as an overall package, it is a very fun driver.

911m3s2k 05-06-2007 05:07 AM

Thanks. I'm going to test drive today. I am looking forward to giving that steering wheel a try....looks unbelievable through the window... thanks again.

StephenTi 05-07-2007 10:34 PM

Took it on a long canyon run today.... this thing is awesome. Love the way it handles... neutral, predictable, runs strong. Handled the endless switchbacks very well. This is a flat out fun car... loving it.

911m3s2k 05-08-2007 05:01 PM

What do you guys think? Sticker for M Coupe is 57,320. Dealer agreed to 54,320...3K off list, 4.9% financing, not sure how much I'll finance yet...more interested in people's opinions on the discounted price. Good deal?

M Coupe
Blk, Blk (carbon leather)
Nav
Heat Seats
Premium

Any thoughts? thanks.

That seems like a pretty good deal... I'd consider it. The most I have ever heard is $4k, but that may be an exception. Tell them $53.5, and they have a deal... see what happens.

StephenTi 05-08-2007 05:23 PM

I was actualy considering painting the center roof section of my Interlagos black instead... thought that would flow nicely from the front glass through the rear glass... hmm...

That would be sweet, along with CF mirrors, yellow Brembo GTRs and BBS racing wheels :D
