Direct Shift Gearbox...used in Audis and VWs. Twin clutch transmission that is vastly superior to SMG in every way.

 

Ahh I see. At least theyre showing it with a 6speed which is always good news and not an option later like the M5 and the M6(soon).

I absolutely love it, except for the hood and lack of pronounced rear fender flares.. I think it will be an awesome driving machine though once again

i loved it before during the spy photos a few months back, and love it even more now. I am still an e36 fan at heart, but so happy to see the new one. The carbon fiber roof is awesome, and glad they went with it. i need to put my order in for this baby, hopefully they make it in estoril

 

PS.. Why not retro the vaders?

 

Engine sounds ferocious but I concur the SMG is completely outclassed by DSG. They have had plenty of time to keep up or get ahead of their rivals here and its a shame they haven't. What a perfect car to have DSG in.

 

i am a huge fan of bangle. his is an amazing designer and great public speaker. his talks on evolution vs. revolution in design are amazing. his scetches are priceless. trully a man ahead of his times.

Yeah, Bangle didn't actually design the e46, though I believe he oversaw some the design process.

 

7 speed gearbox wil make this car REALLY fast... if it's gonna be 415 stock then with ecu tuning, headers and exhaust I think another 40-50 hp is a no brainer.... so 460 HP through 7 gears.... lookout 997S!!! and if it handles as good as 99(6) that will be icing on the cake !

 

(sigh of relief) I thought it was gonna make me miss my E46 M3, but it's nothing special...M5 front, old M5 engine, 335 rear. Makes me feel glad I graduated to PCars when I did

 

I can't say I like any of the M-styling. The side shot looks fantastic but that's about it. I do think that the aftermarket companies will make this car look really nice though.

 

someone take a hammer and pound that hood back in. Thats all I would change and the interior looks kinda I dunno... not very driver oriented. Wonder how much it weighs...

 

that new M3 looks pretty damn sexy to me... very sleek and buff... one thing I don't like is the heavily tinted windows... personally I think it would look great with a minimal tint so you can show off an interior like linen white or red leather seats... other than that I think they nailed it.... with 415 hp to boot it's gonna **** off some carrera "S" owners no doubt... especially the 7-spd SMG....
