dinan factory pics

a couple of weeks ago i went down to dinan factory. my friend works with steve dinan, so he gave me a tour and introduced me to steve. it was great chatting with him. my picture skills equal math skills of a 6 year old, but hey... at least its something:

note the dyno machine -- wheels come off. also its great to see they manufacture everything in-house instead of out-sourcing it.

i didnt take a picture of it, but next to the dyno machine they have a device which "finetunes" and adjusts shocks.

Thanks for Sharing.

My dad was very impressed with his facilities.

He got the grad tour when he picked up his M5. He was one of the first to get the S3 package.

Duly noted and appreciated.

Always admired Dinan (& Steve) for the work they do and their enthusiasm.

I had a 2001 M5 with Dinan exhaust, front strut brace and chipped. Loved it, and the sound of a 400 bhp engine was to die for. I would drive months on end without playing the stereo (my yearly average miles were ~ 20K).

I eventually gave the car up for the 2004 Cayenne Turbo, because at that time I have a 996 TT w/ X-50 pkg. Needed the SUV for family (wife and 3 kids).

I'm currently seriously considering getting an '08 M6 with Dinan package. Will have to give up the 997S cab though.

Thnx for sharing those picks.

jkb,

Thanks for the pics!

I've always been a fan of Dinan. Heard a S2 M5 once! Whew! One of the best sounding cars I've ever heard in my life! It was incredible.
