You might get there without a spare--then again, you might not. There's no good place for a flat tire, but some spots are worse than others. Think two-lane highway. In the dark. Miles from help.
Maybe you'll get lucky. Maybe the puncture is small and repairable. If not, you can always thump down the road on a run-flat, hoping the next full service station shows up before your fillings come loose.
