18" to 19" wheel question

Hi, yes I did search! Three different titles did not bring responses, so I am asking.
Anyone with 987S go from 18 to 19?
My car is mostly mountain driven and the roads are ok, but include some pretty bumpy ones as well. My car has the 18" and PASM so is lowered 10mm.
Did going to 19" cost you performance AND ride quality?
Or.......?
Reallly appreciate some first hand feedback. thanks

I don't know what the 18" feel like other than a 15 min test drive. My 08 Boxster has 19" CS wheels. I was worried it would be too rough coming from my 2001 S4 with OEM 17". It's rougher, but the suspension of the 987's is amazing! I don't know if 18" would be softer, but the 19" are much less harsher than I expected and downright impressive when you are going over speed bumps or bumpy roads. I don't have PASM though and that might make it worse with the lower clearance.

Thank you PDX. I have very little seat time in the 987 so am looking forward to the experience. Hopefully mid week next will have me in the drivers seat.
I am still hoping to hear some feedback from owners who have direct experience with 18 and 19" rims on the 987S......

Hi guys - like PDX, I am not sure what the 18's are like other than a test drive in a Cayman, but I have 19" Carrera Sports on my Cayman and I can tell you that from my experience they are extremely comfortable on the track and VERY solid. On the highway the ride is a bit stiff, but in my limited time on the 18’s I didn’t notice a difference there. My opinion; I highly recommend the upgrade. Plus, I get compliments all the time – it really changes the dynamics of the car from a visual perspective.

JT, thanks for the feedback. I have been searching for wheels and some of the ones I like best only come in 19".
