Best Bang/$$ upgrades to '00 Boxster S
That definitely works. I had MirrorWorks detail the car months ago and I'm sure thats one reason people think there is no way its actually 8 years old. They got it looking just like the day I picked it up. I realized today that this is the only car that I have owned for more than 4 years. And I know I haven't put near 80k miles on any one car before.

+1 on the Headers and Exhaust .I did the Softronic ECU Flash and It was really noticable on my 2.7 also see if there is a Racing Plenum for the 3.2 (I think you have that motor) De-Snorkel? (Costs less then 10.00)& the Evo Air Intake those will give you a little HP for very little $$$ .There is a Fab Speed for sale on E-Bay for $1,395 .thats a great price..
I have an MY2000 2.7

M030 and B&M SSK were the two most important upgrades I have made.
Cosmetics add '03+ lights all around, silver hood creast, chrome exhaust tip and "18 Carrera S replicas for street use

keep it, enjoy it, drive it... my 02 cents

Yup, I realize its not going to be close to the Gallardo. With all the advice on here though I think I'm going to just leave the Boxster stock for engine and all. I'll go with the lightweight approach for where I can. I thought about it more and realize the boxster just isn't a gallardo. totally diff cars and there is a reason that I kept it instead of trading in on the gallardo. I like the lightness of it and it being a convertible.
If things change I'll consider selling it but for now it serves its purpose and is a great car, especially for being 8 years old with 70k miles and still on the orig clutch.

I installed secondary cat delete "test pipes" (see photo) and desnorkeled my air intake. That really helped the seat of the pants feel and a little better sound. I didn't want to go with an entire new exhaust system change out, because the Fcar has a great aftermarket system and one loud car is enough for me.
The Stebro test pipes are around $350.

When I was looking to add hp to my car a few years ago, FVD was selling a "Power Kit" that included, I think, cams, intake, programming and exhaust for the car. You might want to check their website. Or, you could take the plunge and go with the 3.8L crate motor if you are going to keep the car forever.
