its def a different feel. steering feel has changed due to the variable steering which is sharper at speed due to this new system. the 911 def has a lot of grip, and feels more like your on the edge a little more. the cayman is very neutral and prob easier when pushing it. they are both fantastic though! I havnt pushed it too much, as im getting used to it all, but those are my initial impressions.

thanks Jon! def palmer sq photoshoot!

suprisingly no mods yet. it doesnt need much. springs to get rid of the gap, exhaust for a little more power (since they seem to give good power on the cayman S), and clear reflectors.

Reflectors + exhaust were my first two. Springs will be sick on this car. Any thoughts about painting the wheels black? I think that blue with black wheels would look cool.....although it looks sick now.

Hmmm....i cant really think of anything else? These new gen P-Cars really dont need much....WIN!!!!!

Maybe the weekend of August 8, 9, 10 we can all get together....?

The E92's have a very distant feel to them. Disappointing from BMW.

Good choice!

mkiv808-thanks-the 335 was nice and the new m3 is good, but they dont compare to the cohesive package of this car. everything works so well together on it!

soothsayer-thanks, i def think so!

H&R springs (maybe coilovers, but prob not)
catback exhaust
smoke side reflectors

and possible a lip and the GT3 front bumper vent

...and literally, thats it!

Before putting springs and shocks I'd try to explore the limits of the stock suspension.

The Cayman S is an amazing blend of comfort and handling. Few cars sold today drive as well.

Very, very nice. Great color too. My Boxster S is the same color and always attracts attention.

Congrads love the color!
I noticed a few of you have had a 335 and a cayman at one point. Wondering how they compare. I know completely different cars but both are on my next car list. I currently have z4 M and didn’t want my next car to be slower and was kinda wanting a bigger car, figured a chipped 335ci would be perfect but ever time I drive my uncles 997 I’m just like wow its more then just the name there’s something about how that entire car is put together that makes me love that car. If I can squeeze into a used 997 I will definitely do it but I rather buy cars I can comfortable afford so figured let me go test drive he cayman the demo cayman happened to be a base auto. Despite it still being a 2 seater it was roomier then my M so figured it would be a nicer daily driver. However when we got onto the road the power was so disappointing it was almost a joke. I know it wasn’t an S and it wasn’t a stick but come on. I will admit that car was supper flat on curves, no car is as neutral. I will go back and test drive a stick S but wanted you’re guys input. Cayman S vs 335ci. I do think I would take a 335ci vs. a non S.

i liked the 335, but i dont think theres anything in the bmw line up that can compare to a cayman or 911 or boxster in terms of the way it drives. the bimmers are much heavier and you can def feel it! theres much more body roll, and understeer. they are pretty dull and boring when youre not really thrashing them. also, you cannot even begin to compare to the excitement, thrill and steering feel that the Porsches offer not to mention many other things. the cayman S is def faster than an e46 m3 or z4m and drives much better. by that i mean, it handles MUCH better, has firmer suspension, but at the same time is MORE comfortable. also, as far as speed, even a buddy of mine said when he was first in it that he felt it had more punch than my m3 stock for stock. i would def go with the Porsche.
i would easily say the cayman S is one of the best cars under 100K.

Great pick up. Beautiful car. I was in a friends two days back (he is the Techart distributor here in Singapore). Had all the Techart stuff on the car, was running on insane 20 inch rims that I thought would be crap for handling. He took me on a hard back road drive.... all I can say is that the car is an awesome car. Beautiful point and shoot, neutral handling... I WANT ONE!!! Only thing it lacks is straight line grunt, but who needs that if you have tight twisties near your house...
