Exhaust for CS...Can't Decide.
I didn't purchase with headers, but another member on caymanclub.net got the full system, header, race exhaust and I think the total gain were in the 19-30 HP+ range. You can look it up on the site for actual numbers. The header is $2995.00 way more then what i want to spend.
My CS is dropped with H&R springs, its better then stock height. But would prefer lower.
There are many options out there now for CS exhaust. Have fun deciding which to purchase.

you have the full headers to mufflers right? How was the power gain? looks like cat backs give about 15-20 crank hp and with headers it more like 25+ crank hp.
also, are you dropped on H&R springs or KW coilovers?
i had SS on my m3 and loved it. ive been thinking of getting the SS exhaust for the CS. will just the mufflers and tips bolt onto the existing other stuff or do i need the test pipes as well? most of the other seem to be cat backs while the SS is a piece meal exhaust where you can do mufflers, headers, test pipes in any combo.

i am going to take my time figuring out an exhaust, as theres a lot of choices and want to get the right one.
that looks good. also looks like it cut out a lot of weight. my only gripe with it, im not crazy about how the tips point slightly up. other than that, great looking and sounding.
this system is on my radar, however, for the money, im not sure its worth it over some of the other choices out there. fab speed is only ~200 more, B&B is about the same price wise, and SS is only ~500 more. can you tell all of us (as im sure others are wondering as well) what this exhaust system offers in relation to others. and can we get a better sound clip, the clip on youtube sounds like it sounds great but the recording is a bit crappy quality. thanks in advance.
For some reason I'm not able to get to Caymanclub.net right now but there was a thread with different exhaust sound bytes out there. I think Gatorbite started the thread. In any case, the sound snippets are good to listen to, but lack the depth and volume of hearing the real thing.
If you are a member of a local PCA region, I'd suggest seeing if someone there has the exhaust you are considering. There are also numerous threads on caymanclub about many of the available exhaust systems.
Best of luck, hope you find the one that's right for you.

usually its the other way around.
I will vouch for the AP, had the test one on my car and it was 1st rate. I wouldn't spend the money unless you loved the sound or it showed a very substantial hp increase.
But get the coilovers first.

here you go, some side profile and close up shots. had the springs on the car for around 5000 miles now, so its pretty settled. I am running 235/30/20 and 275/30/20 tires, so with 18s the gap will be slightly more.
I tracked several times with the springs and it handle pretty good, but still plan on upgrading to coils when my car hits higher mileage.
The car does handle slightly firmer and sharper and ride isn't too much different at all. Only over bumps or potholes is when you will noticed the extra stiffness.
Yea, I totally agreed my M3 are on KW V3 and its WAY better then stock, but it still can't compare to the CS, which is sort of sad, when in stock form the CS handle so much better then the M with coils. But the rawness of the M, make it sort of more exciting, like a muscle car.
have you look at Borla, it sounds pretty nice, when I brought my Supersprint there were only handful of exhaust for the car, so end up going with Supersprint.

thanks. im prob going to do H&Rs as im not a huge tracker, but would like to do some autoX and maybe 1-3 track days a year. can you throw up some close ups of the ride height if you have time? that drops look good enough for me. also, the CS handles better stock than any m3 or 335 with coilovers ive been in so im sure H&R cant do anything but good.
