what size are those wheels on the 996? i've recently purchased a 996 with brombachers, they're 19" wheels and the rear tires need replacing

they're currently 305-25-19 on the rears, i want to go with a thinner tire in the rear but i dont know what size the wheels are. can you help me out? i'm in the LA area (torrance)

Here are pics of these rims on my 987 Boxster S

I didn't go for an aggressive offset, so I'm fairly certain my set would fit a 986 as well.... unfortunately I can't remember the offsets off the top of my head...

Pull the rear wheel off and it should be stamped on the back. It will have the size and offsett stamped on the back. Let me know if I can help with your tire purchase. We carry most name brand tires and do all our mount and balancing in house. Becareful with those main stream tire shops. I can't tell you how often I hear tire shops scratching wheels. We are right off the 405 fwy and the Santa Monica exit.

Thanks,

Thanks! Unfortunately she was sold several months ago... I still have the rims though! They are sitting in my garage waiting for someone to buy them.... but I'm also thinking that there may be a Cayman in my future that these will also look good on!

How much do they weigh? Are they cast or forged?

Come on down. I should be able to match the Rack. I'll let you know what will work best on your car. I have a few better ideas instead of Pirelli.

Although they are cast they are surprisingly light. The front 19x8.5 are apx. 24 lbs and the rear 19x10 are apx. 27 lbs. I have to tell you the construction and quality is very impressive. I mounted a Work wheel the other day and it was so perfectly round and balanced that it required no weights what so ever. I have found that even some of the most expensive wheels have been extremely out of round even when they come right out of the box. Fortunately I have never encountered that from the Work line of wheels.
