Smile Removable/portable top for Boxsters? Where do I get one?

Hi guys/gals,

I love driving around with my top down (on the car that is! lol!) but i hate that everytime i get out to go into a store, etc., that i have to put the top back on before i go in.

one time i saw a boxster with a canvas looking cover that fit over the top and covered up the cabin without having to put the entire lid back on the car. it had elastic around the edges that stretched and fit over the car somehow. it was a quick and easy on and off.

have any of you guys seen one of these? if so, where do you get them? i can't seem to locate one in parts places, online, or anywhere.

thanks in advance!

What you saw, B-G, is a Tonneau Cover.

Saw one on Pelican Parts (check bottom of page) but it's MIGHTY expensive.

Follow the link:

Why not just use the actaul soft top? Holding a button for less than a minute and tugging on the latch isn't all that bad. That cover seems like a pain to use.

See http://www.brackenrig.net/Tonneau%20Cover%20FAQ.htm for lots of info on the toneau. You have to drill holes in the dash to install it!

nice thing about a tonneu cover is that you can keep the passenger side covered (assuming your driving alone) and trap some heat when driving topdown for those sunny but brisk spring/fall days...
