986s vs 987s

I have been enjoying my 986, but I have been daydreaming about the future replacement unit. Any pros or cons on the 986s vs the 987s? It seems like the big HP of the 987 is a nice step up, but not sure about other changes. Anyone who has owned both have any thoughts?

I moved from a base 04 CPo'ed 986 to an 05 CPO'ed 987 S after one year. It cost plently to make the move.

The interior, fit, finish and seats of the 987 are better. Having the computer is cool well. But I was also interested in the extra safety features of the car (PSM. Side airbags, etc). The extra power is great although I am not the type yet who gets the most out of the car.

The 986 was a joy and I would have had no problem keeping it. Even a base model. But financially I was able to move to the 987 and I am happy I did.

i went from a 996 to a 987 so close but not exact.

interior is way over the 996. my 987 has sport exhaust, chrono and PASM. these are real improvements over the 996 imo. the pasm can go from hard drive to really smooth in amoment. the sport chrono really remaps the throttle in a nice way. overall i am amazed at the difference between this 2008 vs my 2004 996.

I've got a 2000 986 and I'm currently driving a 2008 987 loaner (my 996 is in for service).

I gotta say for all their differences the cars drive and feel remarkably similar. My 986 sounds better with the Evo intake and custom exhaust and rides harder on its modified suspension but the driving feel is very similar.

The 987 interior is definately nicer and the extra power can be felt (so can the weight), but I did not feel a strong pull to upgrade. Just my opinion.

Good question on the resale, I am not sure if one is better than the other?
