Amazing the variances we are seeing here. Must be driving styles and maybe ambient temperatures play a role too.

All very interesting...

When I had my Boxster, the rears lasted 11,000miles. The rears on my 911 lasted only 12,000 miles and that was driving them more then I should of.

Quick update...as luck would have it, I was looking at the rear tires again, drivers side to be specific, and noticed a shiny object in the treads. Upon closer inspection, the object appeared to be one of those heavy duty staples they use to hold larger cartons together. The ones for boxes around major appliances for example. So today I pulled the left rear off the car. With a pair of pliers I removed the foreign object, fully expecting the tire to deflate. I got lucky in so much as the staple went into the tire sideways, around the circumference and didn't deflate. Since I had the wheel off the car I took a closer look at the tire wear. I think I'll be right in the ballpark, at around (guesstimate) 10K miles before needing to replace the rears.

Thanks again to everyone for responding : )
