want to turbo my boxster

hey guy, since winter is basically here and my boxster is just gonna sit around.. i was thinking about installing a turbo setup in it for next summer. has anyone on here done a single turbo or know where i could go to get some help with this?

how much do you guys think this would cost me.. not trying to burn a hole in my wallet but im looking to spend 2-5k on motor work.. if not turbo what would you guys recommend with that price range to add a few HP to the wimpy boxster! thanks in advance.

If you do it properly it'll definitely costs more than 5k.

Talk to me personally as I am in Seattle and not to many other people have as much experience with this as I do. I was the first SC on a a 3.2 Boxster. I am now installing a 3.6 with my SC. We can talk about what your goals are for the car and I will help you make the best decision based upon that. i am sending you my number via PM.

Hmmm... $2-5K to spend? I think I'd pass on a turbo or SC. I'm not convinced that this is the best way to go long term. Personally I'd save up a little more and swap a 3.4L into the car. If you've got a base Boxster this would be a nice jump in power for you. I'd do the install myself, so it would be reasonable to do it with a used motor for ~$6K. If you can swap the engine yourself this may be something you want to consider.

turbo it....buy a book, learn what it takes and do it yourself.

plan on about 4500$ for a low boost, simple system all DIY.

once you done and it works you will have 100000 new ideas, so sell that system and build a bigger one.

its not hard, just take your time.
