Alcantera fabric in a convertible?

Hi, I am looking for some advice/opinions on using Alcantera in a convertible. How does it hold up to the weather? Is it easy to keep clean etc? Reliable?

I am getting the GT3 replica seats in full Alcantera or perhaps leather with just the Alcantera inserts. I will also reupholster some trim pieces (possibly the whole dash and interior) in the future as well. Would I be better off doing this in leather instead of Alcantera for a Boxster?

Thanks

I don't see why you couldn't do the headliner. Maybe use ultra-suede that may help with keeping the creasing to a minimum when the top is down.

I've got a little over 9k miles in my LE Boxster S and the Alcantara seat inserts still look new. Then again I have made sure my car has never been rained or even drizzled in so I have no idea what kind of effects some bad weather would have.

You have just the inserts right? I am leaning on having just the inserts as well. My question was more of if I should have the whole seat done in Alcantera.

XLR82XS, I am not going to bother with the headliner. I prefer to have the car open top most of the time anyway. If anything I was wondering if I should redo the dash in leather or Alcantera. I am concerned that the dash will get really dusty/dirty with the suedelike material.

my GTS has the alcantera seat inserts - great option and i would order that if i customed a car. there is 2006 blacked out C4S on Ebay that has the racing bucket seats in leather with the alcantera inserts - looks good and so functional imo.
