Question 2006 vs 2007 Boxster S difference

To those of you who have driven both the 2005-2006 and 2007 Boxster S, can you really tell the extra bump in horsepower and displacement?

I'm wondering if I should wait until the 2007 prices go down another year of get a 2005 Boxster S right away...

The 2007+ Boxster S seem to hold their values very well and it's hard to find one nicely equipped at a good price. Seems like the economy isn't affecting these cars too much

I'm almost ready to get a 2005 Boxster S with the 280HP engine but the thought of a more powerful and torquey engine behind my seats would annoy me...

So is the switch from the 280HP engine to the 295HP really worth it? Do you feel the extra oomph more down low, mid range or up high?

thanks!

FYI, 2007 boxster has come down in price, I recently purchased one (CPO from dealer) at a very aggressive price. Keep looking the right car at the right price is out there. GL

Not sure what your price range is but I would opt for the newest you can afford - if you are thinking 2007s don't forget about the 2008s.

There's no difference between 2007 and 2008.

Except for the fact that it is a year newer, maybe less miles, and more warranty for sure.

If I am not mistaken, the engine is now M96 series and the same as in the Cayman S and 996's. If you are interested in modifying the engine, you will have more choices.
