X51 for 987 Cayman installed...

Ok so I have spent 6HRS so far and am almost done, got the GT3 Throttlebody with some custome silicone tubing, I am the first to have this package on a 3.4L original Cayman S engine that I know of. Software is from Softronic, Did a dyno before, I took off as many mods as possible to get close to stock #'s car did 279HP/260something torque to the wheels. -full exhaust-mantis pulley-k&n intake. I will post more pics once I am finished...

So is this essentially just an inlet manifold and throttle body swap for a Gt3 / x51 item ? I thought the 997 X51 upgrade included new cylinder heads that were gas flowed as well ? Certainly interested to hear how you get on with this mod.

GT3 TB, X51 intake manifolds, distributor, hoses & plumbing are modified, Softronic silicone TB hose, ECU software (custom by Softronic) It is being dynoed today, here is a video idling... I have tons of pics that I will be writing the article on as well.
Car feels like a different engine, added some power you can feel it on the butt dyno.

Good video clip. Certainly the car seems to have a deeper note than the stock 3.4. Looks like the exhaust is a performance item also..what make have you fitted ? The clear engine cover sets off the inlet manifold nicely , it would be a shame to have it covered up. Have you been able to gauge what power/ torque gains this mod has resulted in ? Good job, you should feel duly proud

thanks, it has an APR exhaust, with APR high flow race headers 100cel, the glass engine cover is made by strutking. I am not planning on having it covered.

Thanks for posting your progress with the X51 mod hope you can get it tunned to bring out the best in performance.

Did you ask APR, EPL or EVOMS about a file for your modification or as you mentioned the similar Techart mod seems to produce good results.

Just a thought that you may have already tried but because your X51 parts look so great installed is it possible to have the shift cables run under the plenum (instead of over the top) because it seems like it would look even cleaner if it would work.

Please keep us updated here on 6speed because your progress reports are interesting and welcomed and don't get discouraged by the negative response you have to tolerate on the brand X forum from the poster with a brusied ego.
