Thank you for the review on the new Cayman PDK. Our dealership would never let someone do that with one of the cars.

I don't think Porsche will have a problem with LC usage. There's a reason why Nissan was aiming to beat a 997 turbo with the GTR. Porsche designs and builds things to last. They know their drivers will use it if you give it to them.

I love those new wheels. I saw them on a local 911, but didn't know they made them in Cayman/Boxster sizes.

I love they way they look on the new 911. I'll have to stop by the dealership when I see them on a Cayman.

thanks for taking the time to post your experiences. i had the SMGII on an M3 and the SMGIII on the M5 and while the PDK is lightyears ahead w/ dual clutch, my feeling is the same. it's a novelty that will likely wear off after a few weeks.

that said... i am having a hard time sitting on my hands... the new front bumper w/ LED daytime driving lights.... the LSD option, the touchscreen navigation... the not-going-to-explode-from-oil-starvation engine.... +20 hp is not a huge thing and i don't care for the PDK... but the rest.... is killing me.

i'd jump on it in an instant if i wouldn't be taking such a hit on my car right now. anyone want a 2006 Cayman S silver/black launch car(pasm, navi, heat seat, sports steering wheel, 19s, chrono), 17k miles, CPO until 2011, RS350 kit installed, dynoed over 300rwhp. = p

If you're serious on selling your Cayman, there's actually a user on here that's coming from a 300zx that would absolutely LOVE to have your car. He was looking at getting a Cayman and then upgrading it to what you have.

Here's a link to his thread.

Thanks for the review! I have a feeling it would get old for me in a hurry as well and I'd end up missing being able to row through the gears the traditional way.

I recently test drove a CS with a manual and a CS with a PDK. I'm honestly torn as to which I liked better. With that in mind, I may forgo the $3k + auto and stick with a manual.
