'98 Boxster with CEL

My wife came home from work last Monday with a CEL. I checked the manual, and it mentioned a lose gas cap could do it. I checked the cap and it seemed lose, so I re-installed it. I called the dealer the next morning and was instructed that it could take a few days for the light to go off...as the car has to go through 3 complete hot/cold cycles. Well, she drove the car all week to work, it's Saturday, and the CEL is still on. I plan to bring it into a local indy shop here in town Monday to check it out, but figured I would see what you guys thought. Chaps my hide, as the car just got a 90k service done 3 months ago...and everything checked out fine.

Cajundaddy is infamous around these parts
The Porsche DME is very sensitive. Lots of possible reasons for a CEL. You can diagnose this yourself without paying $100 to a mechanic. Go to Autozone or another major parts store. There you can read out the error codes for free. Report back here and we can help point you in the right direction.

Was at the dealer today. Apperantly there is a check valve that was clogged. This checkvalve is part of the secondary air system...cold start, fire the cats, etc. Unfortunately, the part is located under the intake and took the better part of the day to change out...and $700.00. Ouch. Thanks for the help, though.
