Deactivate rear spoiler

Does anyone knows how to deactivate Cayman's rear spoiler without going to the dealer?

Unplug it - either at the motor end or at the fuse box

This will work, but you will get an error message on the cluster when you are on the highway and it attempts to activate.

Only way to deactivate it otherwise is at the dealer.

So to install any wing, you have to visit the dealer to deactivate it? Can independent auto shop do it or only the dealer?
