Angry Boxster Windstop

My '09 boxster s's windstop is missing a plastic piece and it is causing it to rattle on the highway. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!! I called the dealership and they can't see me until the 22nd! I analyzed it and saw it is missing a small rubber piece to absorb the vibrations on the right side. I am going into the dealership tomorrow and *asking aggressively* for the piece. Either if they have it in stock or on a showroom model. I didn't pay less for the car, why should i not get all the pieces, right? Is this decision out of line, am I just angry right now??? or would you guys do the same?

Also my bakes squeak at a certain point of pressure and the car has being doing this since I took delivery. They said "it is normal" and it will eventually go away when the brakes seal. It has been 1000+ miles and it still squeaks at that point. Is this normal??

For your brakes : if it's squeak this is because it's working ^^

Yours brakes caliper have perhaps some dust inside.

I would be stern with them, but in the mean time would a piece of foam weather stripping work? At least it would keep you sanity until you can get the part. If they are being jerks, then threaten to call the msg. As a former New car sales manager, I really hated the Manufacturer calling me and asking me why the hell I didnt fix a simple problem like that. Plus it jeapordizes their 5 star rating(or what ever point system porsche uses).

Just move up the food chain. or go directly to service and expain what happened. Usually Parts/service have a more realistic head on their shoulder(not always). Good luck.

As for the brakes, that is true with most new cars. They can't use asbestos brakes anymore and almost all have some sort of metal on metal sound, It should have gone away by now. Try pressure washing out any dirt or particles, but make sure the brakes are cool when you do it. I had a vibration at around 80 to 100 when i used the brakes, but when I sprayed them off it went away. Maybe a simple 8 quarter fix

Why not take the windstop off until they fix it? It's really not too bad without the stop as long as you are below 65 and above just roll up the side windows.

The problem is the noise doesn't start till like the 60's and its on the highway that its unbearable. I will try it without the windstop. Basically I went in, showed them the piece and now they say they have to order it and I still have to wait until the 22nd.
