Boxster advice... about to lease a 2009
My 2008 MX-5 is coming off lease and I'm looking at a great deal on a new 2009 Boxster. It is very lightly optioned... bluetooth, speaker system, power seats, 18" wheels. I'm concerned about a couple things and was hoping to get you feedback:
1. Ny miata has heated seats, lap-level vents and a built-in wind deflector to warm you with the top down here in the SF bay area. This car has none of those things it seems. Should I run or does the boxster have some kind of massive heating system?
2. The car does have bluetooth... can I stream music from my iPhone to the car stereo?
3. I found another car further away with heated seats and deflector but with 17" wheels. Should I go for that one instead and have them swap the 18's from another car?
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

1. The heating system in our 09' Boxster is great. Yes, we do have the heated seats, but even with those off, i think the heating in this car is better than the Audi. Take it for a test drive if possible and see how it is for yourself and if your happy with it. We don't have the wind deflector on ours, but whats the point of having a convertable if you can't feel the wind in my opinion.
2. Bluetooth systems are not capable of syncing to phones and playing music at the same time. If you own a iPhone/iPod then you can buy the iPod quick connect to stream music through your radio. The gov. regulated that Bluetooth may only be operated during phone calls and thats it to my knowledge.
3. If you go this step, to find a set of wheels that please you, or even are factory Porsche 18", they will cost a pretty penny, then you'll haft to worry about selling them when your future lease is up.
Keep searching you'll end up finding one you'll really want. Possibly look at Beverly Hill's/SoCal area dealers. We ordered our Boxster from our local dealer Michael Automotive.

this is false in general. I stream Bluetooth to my car all the time for music however, im not sure if the 2009 is capable of this. considering my wifes mercury can and its a very basic vehicle i cant imagine why this boxster could not? you can always ask. if it is BT with A2DP then yes you can stream music

you can buy a wind screen for behind the seats - get them to throw one in - only a few hundred $.
you should read up more about S vs non S - those 09's have nice engines. i assume manual tranny? if not it MUST have sport chrono - even in manual sport chrono is great.

" im not sure if the 2009 is capable of this"
"if it is BT with A2DP then yes you can stream music"
it doesnt matter if you are talking about the nasa space shuttle... if it supports A2DP then it supports streaming for music and since porsche and ford are two different companies this is why i said he should ask.
this may fix your audi... http://www.germancarblog.com/2009/10...usic-over.html
here is the part about 1/3 the way down for an audi.

as far as porsche is concerned it doesnt support A2DP so likewise no streaming music.
