Exactly. If the car was built to be economically friendly and failed, i can see the complaining. But considering what the car was built for, i think they achieved what they set out to do

Boxster Spyder 1:27
Tesla S 1:32
The Spyder is a lot faster on this race track.
I think in the context of the comparison made here, you have to mention it. I don't fault the reviewer for doing so.
Ya, I understand that that they are comparing the cars and this is obviously one of the glaring differences, it just kind of seemed like something that didn't really have to be said. The guy just came off kind of whiney and arrogant.
Tesla faster??? Ummm not exactly:

Thank you for the lap times.
The whiney part sounds like most libs. Want to stop global warming? Eliminate a lib and use their carbon foot print.
kind of generalizing, but people like that make it too easy
drive a boxster and stop eating cows
did you know that the UN study on global warming found that nearly 18% of greenhouse gases are the result of 'factory' farming (mass production of beef, in particular). that exceeds the effect of all transportation-related emissions. I'm all for clean and green and I do way more than my part, but until someone can replicate the sound of my boxster and figure out how to bring that absurd $130k tesla price down, I'll be driving my boxster with zero guilt or regret.
Anything that lives create green house gases which is claimed to cause global warming. This is highly questionable as the science has been manipulated for for final analysis. Further more, world has been in a cooling trend since 1995 which is why 1990 is the year used for comparison purposes.
To be clear, I am all for clean environment, only I would let the free market dictate it. The US has had lowest emissions per citizen due to greater wealth. Anyone who has traveled should notice this as our general practices show, especially when in comparison to other Countries. I'm just not into making Al Gore richer at the cost of our average citizens.
FYI. medium size dog has the same carbon foot print as a Toyota 4 runner driven average milage, 15K a year.
Dairy cows are really taking a beating in California due to this issue.

fact check
I don't want to get into a big debate here...but you've totally missed the mark on some of you facts...like the US has the lowest emissions per citizen....that's completely wrong.
let's get back to cars, maybe?

I think it's funny that he said Porsche will probably be working on an electric car of some sort before long. As he was saying that, Porsche was/were developing the fantastic 918 Spyder they just introduced. Although not fully electric, it's a 500hp hybrid capable of 78 mpg which ain't too bad. No one plays poker like Porsche. As folks are criticizing the company for falling behind on the latest technology, they come out fighting with a knock-out punch (or royal flush, if you will).
Considering that it is no problem to average over 20MPG in the Boxster it is nonsense to bring up economies compared to the majority of American porkers that won't get 20MPG rolling down a hill. Porsche has always been the most economical of all high performance sportscars. Lowest HP compared to all others but also bets fuel economy. In addition, the Boxster has full real world useabilyt with two trunks. the Tesla is useless, it is the smallest two seater ever, in that case a motorcycle gets better range .... nice concept but that is it. Tesla at this point is a toy until they bring the four door four seater.
