Drove Cayman S on track
I sure wouldn't mind having one of those!
That instant throttle response, with the flat torque curve of the GT3 engine, coupled with the Cayman's weight balance and transfer? Adding in all of the CS stuff (locking diff, etc...). C'mon... It's making me feel all tingly.
Like USCCayman just mentioned... And as would I - I'd love to even see what that would be like.

Me too!
I don't understand why the bean counters of Zuffenhausen think there is no room for a fast Cayman. I doubt a powerful Cayman would steal many, if any sales from the 997. It might even bring in more geld than they already have.
If anything it would improve their profit margins because they would be selling a Boxster for what I imagine to be GT3 money. Cayman GT3 and 911 GT3. Pick your preference rear engine or mid engine, they don't have to worry about the P car guys that don't track their cars defecting which is the majority.
No I meant to be able to chose between a Cayman GT3 and a 911 GT3...not to be able to pick your car design!
Cayman GTR 410hp 3.8L X-51 track monster...

The Farnbacher shop is closed now due to a little alleged embezzlement problem but lots of tuners have the knowledge if you got the $$$.

An honorable grandson of Ferdinand, no less. When he went to Audi, his influence at Porsche waned for many years. That dude was responsible for the 917, as well as the prototypes leading up to it, so I heard (907, 908, etc,). More recently, the Bugatti Veyron was his idea. Let's hope he is ready to continue doing radical things at Porsche now that he is back!
