Sports Chrono Question

With PDK I understand how this will help shifts in auto mode.(Quicker shifts at higher RPM). How does it help when your shifting manually with PDK?

Per Porsche "In manual mode, gear changes are faster and more dynamic." and further "In Sport mode, the trigger threshold for PSM is raised for increased longitudinal and lateral dynamics. Agility is enhanced under braking for corners with PSM, enabling greater handling response under braking and exit acceleration, especially at low speeds." You would also have the more sensitive throttle response. Hope that helps.

So I guess the shifts will be quicker in manual mode. Can I get the revs equally high with or without SC in manual mode?

You should be able to. In Sport+ and auto mode, the transmission will shift when it hits redline. I believe in manual mode, if you don't shift before redline you'll bounce off the rev limiter. I'm not certain about that last part because I haven't tried it.

In auto mode with sport/plus engaged the car will not shift before redline. If you leave the sport/plus on and slide over to manual you can shift whenever you want. It does seem to be a quicker shift than regular manual or sport mode. Get out and play with it...your not going to hurt anything. Just make sure it's warmed up properly.
